Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to sign up for a class or can I just show up?

In order to take a class at The Arts Garage, you will need to buy a ticket to that class via our website. Just look at the class information and you will see how to buy a ticket. Works in the same manner as buying a concert ticket or movie ticket. We also have certain hours that are designated “Open Studio” when you are able to just “show up” and create with kits that we have available for you to make & take that day and we also have “Kits To Go” that have instructions for you to enjoy with your family at home or during your local Airbnb vacation!

NEWSFLASH - we now have new ceramic projects to paint and other fun craft projects on the shelf like mini acrylic and watercolor canvases and seasonal wood/sign projects. If you have a question about what is on the shelves just give us a call at 615-438-6062 during normal business hours. We have also added time slots for private parties or small get togethers like you and your grandkiddos or a hen night! CALL AND SCHEDULE TODAY!

Can I cancel my spot and get a refund for a class?

The Arts Garage offers a 72-hour cancellation policy and will refund your class fee or re-book you to another class if done before that time frame. You must request to move to another class or cancel your spot at least 72 hours prior to class time. There are no exceptions. You are always welcome to gift your class to a friend if you cannot make it!

Parking?

We are located on West Walnut Street in Smithville and there is ample parking in our downtown area.

What happens if I’m late for class?

Usually our teachers allow a 5-10 minute grace period to allow for parking, slow public transportation, runaway cats, etc. However, if you’re significantly late (20+ minutes), we cannot guarantee you will be allowed into the class. Unfortunately, it slows down the entire class to catch someone up to speed and is unfair to all of the students who made it on time. If you are denied attendance to class due to tardiness, we cannot guarantee a refund or reschedule.

How do I use a gift certificate to pay for a class?

Our Gift Certificates will be available soon and the policy will be delineated here.

How do I purchase a The Arts Garage gift certificate?

Soon you will be able to click here- thanks for your patience.

Is there an age limit for students at The Arts Garage?

Our workshops and clubs usually have ages listed for our kiddo offerings and experiences.

Can I bring my child to a class that I have signed up for?

Please do not bring your children to class with you unless it is a child/parent class listing. In addition, there are also class size constraints that may be exceeded if extra students are allowed into the class. Call a baby sitter and join a class to relax and refuel- feed your soul- it’s important too!

Can I bring my dog or pet to a class that I have signed up for?

No, unless it is a service animal. Again, we don’t want to make others who may not wish to be around pets made to feel uncomfortable.

How do I teach a class at The Arts Garage?

We’re always looking for talented teachers who can share their expertise and teach fun, informative classes. If you have an idea for a class, email us with your idea and your contact information. Feel free to send along images, websites, and any applicable teaching experience.

Do you offer classes again and when do you list them?

Most classes are regular classes that occur monthly or every few weeks.  There are some classes that are only offered quarterly. Due to our limited size, classes tend to sell out quickly. So, if you see a class you like, then sign up!!  But, if a class IS sold out, don’t despair – we probably have another session scheduled for the following month. Most classes are posted about 2-3 months in advance.  We announce new class postings via our Facebook page at The Arts Garage and our instagram page too - #theartsgaragetn
